Compiled by a minister of the gospel. This book is a ninth edition, revised and improved and was published by D. Brainerd Brooks, Successor to John P. Jewett and Co., 193 Essex Street Salem in 1853. The book has several engravings, most of which are quite small. Book is small 6.5 x 3.5. There is a bit of fabric missing from the top and bottom edge of the spline and the corners. The back binding is loose but the original string is still present. The last several pages have turned a mottled brown color but are fine for reading. This book was "Adapted to lead them to love and obey their parents, to be kind and obliging to their companions, and merciful to animals: Also, To Remember Their Creator." Media shipping $4.00.
